The basic performance of waterproof connectors can be summarized into three categories: mechanical performance of waterproof connectors, electrical performance of waterproof connectors, and environmental performance of waterproof connectors.
Mechanical properties of waterproof connectors: The mechanical properties of waterproof connectors can usually be divided into the following sub categories.

Vibration resistance and impact resistance are the most important mechanical properties of waterproof connectors, which are usually used in special environments and are difficult to apply. However, they are extremely important, such as waterproof connectors used in aerospace, as well as indispensable in railway and road transportation. In addition, with the rapid development of society, the flight speed of aircraft or missiles has increased rapidly, and the problems of vibration and impact have become increasingly serious. Therefore, the application of waterproof connectors with these two properties in reality is becoming increasingly practical.
The locking method is a safe and reliable remedial connection measure taken to prevent the separation of waterproof connectors caused by vibration, such as adding safety fuses in threaded waterproof connectors.
Mechanical lifespan is essentially a durable and useful indicator, as well as an extremely important mechanical performance.
The function of the positioning key cannot be ignored, as it is a structural form of the positioning key selected to prevent incorrect insertion and engagement of waterproof connectors.
The insertion and extraction force is divided into two parts, namely the insertion force and the extraction force. In addition, the extraction force is also known as the separation force, and their performance requirements and usage environment are different. Of course, there are also some other electrical properties, such as electromagnetic interference leakage attenuation. It is a special electrical performance used to evaluate the electromagnetic interference shielding effect of waterproof connectors, and the usage frequency is generally maintained in the range of 100MHz to 10GHz.
In addition, for RF coaxial waterproof connectors, there are other electrical performance indicators, such as characteristic impedance, reflection coefficient, and so on.
Environmental performance: In the industry, common environmental performance includes temperature resistance, humidity resistance, salt spray corrosion resistance, etc.
① Temperature resistance: So far, the working temperature limit of waterproof connectors is 200 ℃, except for a few special high-temperature waterproof connectors, the lower limit is -65 ℃.
② Moisture resistance: Moisture resistance refers to the so-called moisture resistance. Once moisture enters the waterproof connector, it will have a significant impact on the insulation performance of the waterproof connector and rust the internal metal parts of the waterproof connector.
③ Resistant to salt spray corrosion.
